Fulfilling dinner @ Rabbit!

Met up with Caeby on Thursday for a short dinner and also shopping for CNY clothes for herself.
hahah! Shopping was easy but dinner was a hard choice at first.
Because its so hard to find food thats really cheap and nice especially in our always so busy town called Orchard! LOL!

So since we wanted a budget much dinner, I brought Caeby to a place called Rabbit!
A place which bestie last introduced to me! (: Brought quite a few people there before.

Despite the name is called Rabbit, but NO RABBITS ARE KILLED!
And we dont eat rabbits! =D
So what do we eat there?
All the meals they serve comes in a set -- our mains (rice/noodles/udon) with chinese tea, dessert and a soup ('sharks fin' or chicken soup i think).

What i usually order would be Set G which consist of Abalone noodles, a Fish Maw also known as Sharksfin soup, and desserts.

A little pepper and vinegar would make the fish maw soup so much nicer! (:
Also, they have their special shrimp mixed balachan which was super awesome.
Okay, in the first place, I wasnt someone who can really take spicy.
However, I could finish almost 3/4 of the balachan that they served. It was really good.
It smell nice and a little tinge of sweetness. And usually this would go with my noodles.

Caeby ordered Set S1 which consist of Seafood Fried Rice, Chicken Soup and dessert.
Okay, according to the menu, its supposed to have abalone and scallops. But we could only see abalone on top of it and a little scallop fakes on it.

But for the price we are paying, this is what we could get. Despite the amount of ingredients given, this dish was also awesome. Even thou it should be called Seafood Fried rice, but it tasted more like normal egg fried rice. and its really different from the ones we got outside.

As usual when I was dining over at Rabbit, I would always go for their Spinach Toufu! (:
It comes with their special sauce, and the toufu was very well fried tgt with the veges on top! Always worth the try for only $2.00SGD! Where do you find such deal at Orchard Road?

What I like about Rabbit:
They serve value meals at really affordable prices. Not only that, we dont usually have to wait too long for the food to be ready. Even if there are long queue, its still quite fast.

What I dislike about Rabbit:
During lunch hours, Rabbit could be so pack that it would be so hard for people to enter and come out of the restaurant. Apart from that, everything else is good! (:

Heng Heng Curry Restaurant!

Last Friday evening, while waiting for the boy to end work.
I headed down to Causeway Point shopping mall for a short walk!
Went over to Kose counted to collect some stuffs and here’s what I’ve gotten!

A night cream! Tried and it has been really good to me this few days.
My face has become slightly better.
Okay not sure if it was because I tried to sleep early? Or was it because of the cream.

But anyway, the purpose of this cream is actually to give your face more moisture during the night. Shall try out for a few more days! (:

At first we were thinking of having Pasta Mania for dinner, however because of the long queue. We decided that we’ll skip that.

Heng Heng always caught my attention, but somehow, we always didn’t manage to head in for dinner/lunch or any other meals! Because there were no queue. So bf and I decided that we shld give it a try!
Bf ordered Curry Vegetables Soup + Rice, while I ordered their Braised Meat with Egg and Rice.

Okay, first to serve was my Braised Meat with egg and rice. A little too sweet for my liking despite the fact that I’ve got tolerance for sweet tooth! But thn again, I do not really like my main dishes to be sweet.

Got a little sick after eating a few mouths. Because of the sweet sauce which wasn’t much of my taste, I’ve decided to try boyfriend’s Curry Vegetables.

There are long beans, cabbage, brinjais, potatoes and some other veges in it. I would say, this would be nicer as compare to my Braised Meat.

The curry was a little salty, but overall was alright if you pair it with rice. Curry was thick and it smells really good. Worth giving it a try! (:

Because of the picture in their menus, I’ve decided to order their Grass Jelly drink to try. It was really nice! (: The grass jelly melts in the mouth and it’s a huge cup. I would say, it shld be enough for 2! (:

What I like about Heng Heng Restaurant:
Their dishes was served up quite fast. And they actually had a really nice dining area. Suitable to mini gatherings as well as family dinners (:

What I dislike about Heng Heng Restaurant:
Their service was a little slow. Not very attentive in our request.

Disappointed with Kaplan

I am very disappointed with Kaplan Higher Education Institute!
Because I was thinking about taking another degree majoring in HR and Marketing.
I've tried to source for schools that offer that kind of courses. And finally I've found them in Kaplan!

However, firstly their service wasnt that good. It has been like more than a week since i've emailed them regarding the courses. However, up till today, I receive no reply.
Well, there was one, but with the wrong reply. So I check with the person who replied me at first asking for the correct course fees. And yet again till today, I didnt receive anything.

So I've decided to head down to Kaplan itself to check out on the course fees and thinking i might be able to check out on the course starting dates.
But i was too late. Apparently their working hours is the same as those office jobs.
(Which I think this cant be happening, because not everyone who are studying or wants to study are students! There could working adults like myself). Okay, i shall not probe on that.

End up, the receptionist gave me 2 name cards to get me to email to the consultants. And i've tried. But still there wasnt any reply. Okay, I shall wait for a few more days.

So angry! This is definitely not the right way for a customer service to work?

Lunch at Poulet! (:

After walking ard for hours, boyfriend and I finally decided on Poulet at Bugis + for lunch!
At first I was a little unwilling because I've never a fan of French food. Moreover, it was set up by the Thai Express Group.

On Poulet's menu, they have food ranging from appetisers to desserts.

First up was this Mushroom soup, if you are a fan of mushroom, this is definitely a must try.
I was rather skeptical abt this at first, because after trying out the Velvety Mushroom Soup at the Soup Spoon, I got kind of turn of by the overly filled mushroom taste which makes my stomach feels really bad.

However, this mushroom soup was really good. They do have a little of that creamy taste, but it was so different from the ones we had elsewhere.

After the soup, here comes our main.
At first we were unsure of what are the nice mains, we when we looked ard, we saw that most of the people who went Poulet for lunch are ordering this.
So the boy ordered their famous Poulet Roti (SGD$15.80 for half, $28.80 for whole).

The chicken was being roasted till it was golden brown, and after which they added creamy mushroom Chardonnay Sauce which makes the dish a perfect one! (:
The sauce has this creamy and sweet and was the best ones i had so far.
And the chicken was so tender that it somehow melts in the mouth!

I ordered their sandwich, which I wasnt my liking.
They had added the satay sauce tgt with some other sauces which makes my sandwich taste pretty bad. Or mayb it could be just my tastebuds.

I've also tried out their Banana Bread Pudding (if i remember correctly), a little too sweet for me.
And also, after all the main dishes, I'm already kind of full! hahah! (:
But their banana bread pudding is really nice. It has strong banana taste and doesnt have raisins!
Okay because I dont like them. But apart from it, that individual portion will be enough to fill two, if anyone doesnt have sweet tooth (:

Will definitely head back again for more! And I shall update more! (:
Also, do take note, they always has long queues! So either go earlier, or join in the queue! (: ahahha!

What I like about Poulet:
They do have good service despite the pack lunch hours.
Clear the plates fast enough and serving the desserts straight after.
I would say they are rather attentive.

What I dislike about Poulet:
Their sitting arrangement is a little too pack, we could literally see and listen to what the people from our next table is doing and eating.

Its Prata Time! (:

I suppose Indian cuisines to everyone isnt something new!
But sometimes having something nice to eat will make your day a better one (:

And to everyone, pratas needs no introduction.
And as usual, over the weekends, I would have pratas for breakfast to start my day!

Usually I would go for their Masala Thosai.
Masala would means lightly cooked potatoes with friend onions and spices and will be wrap with a pancake light layer.

Why i like this? The sides are always crunchy and the potatoes are not too spicy for my liking.
And the combination of pancake mix with potatoes, makes it so perfect.

Usually Thosai comes with three different types of curry/sauce to eat with.

Next up with be their plain pratas.
I've tried pratas that taste exactly like flour. (Okay i know its made of flour, but the one im introducing doesnt have that taste).

Its super soft on the inside, and smells very nice.
Usually when you ordered plain pratas, they would come with Fish curry.
Most of the places would come with chicken curry (if im not wrong).

Back to 2012!

This has gotta be the most outdated post! LOL!

Cousin and I was talking abt becoming some Food Blogger wannabe! LOL!
And off we went out for some Indo cusine and took pictures.
Shall post abt that in the next post!

Before that, the boy and I took part in the Nike run 2012 back in October, if memory didnt fail me LOL!
Okay, firstly the day didnt went well. Woke up late, was suppose to be at the starting line at 730! We woke up only at 7! But oh well, theres another starting off timing at 745am.
So hurried, and cab down to Marina Bay!
For the first time, i took part in a marathon. Okay, not so much of run but still it was an experience for me. (:
Ran for like 3km and rest for 1km! hahah! Thats how it kept me moving forward!
And being a cheap skate person, another thing that made me look forward was the finisher tee! hahaha!

But anyway, thank you for participating this run with me.
Even thou your knee hasnt heal at all.

Also, thank you for tolerating all my nonsense all this while.
And pampering me when I'm feeling down.

Thank you for coming into my life and making things slightly different in a way.

In every arguement we had, we learn and we grow.

Thank you one again (:
