Marathon & Foodie!

I apologized for the lack of blogging.!
Have been rather busy because of yoga and also school + work!
Totally no time for pictures and also blogging ):

Back track a little!
Boyfie and myself took part in the sundown marathon this year!
Okay, this post is really lagging back because sundown happens on the 1st of June!
And we are already 3/4 way thru june hahah!

That day was the day which I was so super shag, because I had to work, attend class and head off for the run after school! Le boyfriend when back home to drive the car out to come and meet me at Marina Square while I cab down after that to look for him. Because i was so afraid of the road closure, I was like wondering where is the nearest place the taxi uncle could stop me in order not to be affected by it. But phew! No blockage ard the areas that i'll be alighting (:

Pictures before the run!
Accompanied the boyfriend for dinner at 10pm at Macdonalds. Supposed that was the only thing we could find at that timing. ahhah!
I was quite shock myself to be completing the run in 1hour 45 mins!
Previously when I took part in the Nike run, it took me 2h30mins to reach my destination!
Pretty happy abt it! hahah! And giving myself a pat on my shoulders (:

*****

Foodie time!
Because I had cravings for Steamboat!
So we head down to causeway point and giving this restaurant a try!

Eat till u drop Buffet!

They had 6 kinds of soup base for you to choose frm - Seaweed, Sukiyaki, Spicy, Curry Dashi, Tomato, Cream base soup! And we go for the spicy soup and the sukiyaki soup!

It was a terrible choice to begin with! Because spicy was spicy enough, and Sukiyaki was super salty!
So we had to add in water on our own to make it better )):

Their ambiance was rather alright, except that we are sitting a little too close to our neighbours that we could almost hear what they say!

Comes our soup! Can you guess which one was which? haha! The darker colored was the Sukiyaki while the lighter soup was the spicy soup!

Veges and mushrooms to add into it!

Oh yes, and for the price you are paying, you are able to get free flow of the meats (Beef, Pork, Chicken)

And lastly the sauce that I made myself! hahah! Which includes seasame, Jap sauce and spring onions.

Overall the experience was rather alright. But with the little amount of veges to pick frm, and the free flow of meat, we may head back to try other soup base, but not the ones we had before.

Hoshigaoka Japanese Restaurant

I suppose this isnt the first time I'm blogging about this Japanese Restaurant.

Here's a little history about Restaurant Hoshigaoka.
This restaurant was first opened in Singapore at Apollo Hotel back in 1972 and was initially named as Hoshigaoka Saryo which was brought from Japan with their traditional Japanese cooking together with their culinary tastes, sumptuous dishes as well as trademark of Japanese Hospitality. In order to appeal to the broader market, Hoshigaoka Saryo was being renamed as Restaurant Hoshigaoka in 1986.

Restaurant Hoshigaoka was a family Japanese restaurant which was since brought over by JP Pepperdine, the owner of Jack's Place, Eatzi Gourmet and Brewbaker’s kitchen & bar.
Now, Restaurant Hoshigaoka has 3 outlets in Singapore, located at Isetan Scotts (#4-00), Eastpoint Mall (#03-14) as well as Woodlands Civic Centre (#02-05)

Whenever, the boyfriend and I ran out of ideas what to have for dinner / lunch, we will always head down for their lunch as it was just 10mins away from the boyfriend's place. With their affordable price, they are still able to come up with such good food, I really think its worth going back over and over again.

Even thou the sushi in this restaurant might cost a bomb, but this sushi are not the reason why i choose to head down for lunch / dinner. Also, with the stiff competition with Sakae Sushi just at level 1, I was telling boyfriend that this might close down. But not quite true after i've tried Sakae Sushi over at the outlet at Civics.

Okay, this time round, they boyfriend ordered his usual dish - Beef Shabu Shabu.
They comes with chicken too! (In case you are not a beef lover). But no joke, their beef was really fresh and tender. But of cuz, this would also depends on how you cook them in this mini hot pot! (:

They always comes with huge mushrooms which I totally love.
The broth of this Shabu Shabu is slightly salty and less sweet as compare to Sukiyaki! So for those who love eating Sukiyaki, you shld really give this a try! (:

Check out the beef! Okay, Sorry for the filter that I've done!
But the redness of the meat would somehow show that the beef is fresh, not quite sure if this is true thou, but someone told me this before.

This is the sauce that comes together with the boyfriend's dish! (:
Called the salty sauce! LOL!

Next up would be mine! (:
This time round, I intended to try something different.
Because whenever I head there for meals, I couldnt decide what I want to order for myself LOL!
So this time I've tried their Katsu Don.
I was never a fan of porky!
But this is really good!
It doesnt comes with that porky smell, and when they fry the eggs tgt with the onions!
Slurp! Makes me hungry for food again! =D
The meat was tender, and the onions could do the job to give u more flavouring. (:
Would definitely head down to try more of their dishes and do a more detailed post up! LOL!
But overall, the atmosphere and also the food is really worth the visit! (:

Do give it a try, and you might soon fall in love with them (:

Overall Rating: 8/10

Meet up with Bestie!

Met up with my favourite girls for our usual chit chat session as well as last min shopping for CNY! hahah!
Okay this is a very outdated post LOL!

As Estee already had her meal at home, both YW and I go ahead to search for food to fill out tummies! (:
So we chanced upon this Japanese Food store called Menya Mushashi and we decided to give it a try.

The ramen comes in 3 different kinds of soup base - White Tora (Original) / Black Tora (Garlic Oil)  / Red Tora (Chilli Oil)

Because both of us are having a bad throat on that day so, baby girl decided to go for the Black Tora while I've decided to try their White Tora.

I love their restaurants layout. Ninjas lanterns and Ninja display.
There was quite a number of people that day, however, we didnt have to queue for seats (:

This is what I've ordered - White Shabu Shabu Ramen (SGD$14.90)
The beef was really tender and I love the soup base! Not only that, the portion of the ramen was just nice for one person. And I could amazingly finish the whole bowl without feeling too full (:

Baby girl ordered Black Chashu Ramen. (SGD$12.90)
Soup base for this was a little salty.
However, the cha shu was really good! Will definitely head back for other ramen! (:

Even thou we are not 100% ramen lovers, I do recommend this restaurant!

What I love about this restaurant:
Their designs in the restaurants make me feel as if im in local Japanese Restaurant when I'm in Japan.
They serve their dishes fast enough and are served hot. (:

What I dislike about this restaurant:
Their sitting arrangements are a little too close to each other that you could probably hear what others are talking about. hahah! (:
But apart from that, the service and food are all good!

Overall Ratings: 8/10
