A little bit of Paris (2014)

Back to posting my Europe Paris Journey back in 2014. hahahah!
A super outdated post I know.

But since I have the time and I happen to be reading my old posts which brings back lots of memories, I shall make this a recorded post.

I cant really give you lots of details as to the actual cost, but I hope it does help you guys in some planning for those who are heading to Paris.

Because I've been there back in 2013, a year later I headed to Paris with the love of my life.
We only had 3D2N at Paris.

And we reside in Airbnb. To be honest, after hearing nasty about how airbnbs are, we have our own reservations to whether we really wanted to stay there.
But after much thoughts, we decided to give it a try. hahaha!

We took the Eurostar from London to Paris (About an hour journey)

After reaching Paris, we immediately headed to take their train and headed down to our Airbnb to check in.

After checking in, we look thru the map to find out where are the places we really want to go.
But because it was turning dark, so we headed to the famous Lafayette Paris for some 'shopping' and relaxation.

I knw this is not a place to buy products at cheaper cost, but because I didn't have much to get.
Hence we headed down to take a look.

Because we only had 3D2N, we only visited the some attractions.

Started our Day 2 in Paris by visiting the Louvre.

It was so different as compare to the last time I visited. When I visited previously, it was so packed with tourist. Because its noon. hahhahaa

This time round, I headed to the Louvre in the morning.
It wasn't as pack as what I thought it would be. Basically we took our time since its the last few days of our trip, we decided to take things slowly.

After the Louvre, we tried the river cruise.

Previously I tried when at night, this time round, we tried in the afternoon.
The weather wasn't that bad as compare to night. Because of the cold wind and in order to catch good view, we had to stay outdoors.

So if you really wanted to see the night views of Paris, try taking the night cruise instead. But be prepared with lots of warm clothings.

After the night cruise, we headed off to visit the famous Eiffel Tower. We headed up to the top of the tower, but it was too cold for us to stay outdoor.

Hence, after taking some photos, we decided to leave. hahaah!

After Eiffel Tower, we went off to visit the Arc De Triomphe.
Stood in the middle of the road to capture some shots before heading over to the other side of the road to grab some dinner back to our apartment.

Day 3
Because it was our last day in Paris, we hurried off to visit the last place, Notre Dame.
we didn't headed into the church, only took some images outside. hahahah!

After some shots, we headed off to some window shopping and walk around the area before heading back to our apartment to pack our stuffs and get ready to head to the airport for our flight back to SG.

Would love to visit Paris again, someday.
Till then.!

London is love

After months of not posting something on my blog, i decided to continue with my Europe Trip with the boyfriend back in 2014.

We were initially trying to find what are the other cheaper alternatives we can take from Edinburgh to London. However, as it is during the December season, there are no cheaper tickets available for us.

Hence, we decided to fly there via Virgin Airlines.
Book our tickets from the Virgin Airline websit

The total cost for taking Virgin Airlines was about SGD$178 for 2 pax, which it thought it was pretty decent.

Arrived in Heathrow Airport!
Heathrow Airport was really huge!

Headed towards the Heathrow Express to board our trains to town.
Heathrow Express works the same way as our MRT in Singapore, except that it is faster!

Reached Paddington Station.
Surprisingly there are no paddington bears ard which i always thought i would have see them when i'm here. But i did some research on Paddington station before i was there, there is a shop that sells Paddington stuffs.

Headed off to our hotel to put down our luggages before heading out for dinner / lunch.
Hahaha, because by the time we reached the hotel and headed out, the sky turns dark when the time was only about 4pm (London Timing)

In case you were wondering, which hotel did we stay in.
We choose Tune Hotel (Paddington Station) because we didnt want to waste any time travelling while searching for our hotel.
Prices are a little steep for Tune Hotel because it was considered walking distance from 2 station (Edgware Road Station & Paddington Station)
Total Cost of hotel was approximately SGD$160 per room per night.

Headed for Jamie Oliver for some burgers!

Took some rest for the day. And started Day 2 by heading off to St Pancras Station.
Headed off to St Pancras station to search for the train station area where we will be taking our rails to Paris few days later.

A little history: St Pancras was opened in 1868 and is one of the wonders of Victorian engineering. Along with the former Midland Grand Hotel, this is a masterpiece of Victorian Gothic Architecture and one of the most elegant stations in the world.

Searched for this Harry Porter's Platform to snap a picture for the best friend!
Was thinking of heading to Warner Brother's studio to have butter beer, but becuase we do not have a lot of time in London, hence we decided to give that a miss.

Someday, I'll head back for butter beer!

Roamed around and found ourselves in Trafalgar Square which is one of the Tourist attraction in central London.

And roamed around to search for the Big Wheel also known as the London Eye!

After which, we headed off to the boyfriend's favourite team, Emirates stadium at Arsenal Station.
And being the forgetful me, after snapping this Arsenal station image, my camera decided to die on me.

3rd day in London, brings us to Tower Bridge.

A view from the bridge to the sea below.
I had to faster snap this image and run to the sides, becuase i was super afraid of falling into the sea.
hahaha like a noob!

A view from the bridge with the beautiful scenery.

Had a try at the must have fish and chips in London!

Headed to Shakespeares Globe! Took a look at how they performed and many other interesting history of how Shakespeares started.
For more information, you may visit their page: http://www.shakespearesglobe.com/

Day 4 started with a trip to Westminister for Big Ben.

Wanted to see Changing of guards, but in the end we missed it by just a few minutes!
By the time we reached, they just finished and marched off. LOL!
So we just took pictures just outside Buckingham Palace.

Lastly, headed to Harrods for some last minute shopping before headed off Paris the next day.

For those who are interested, you may also purchase the London pass which might help you guys in some of the destination that you might want to visit.
For us, we bought the London pass which allows us to some of the museums for free.
You may visit the website for more details:

This wont be the last time I'm heading to London, even thou the things might be really expensive and that would depends on what are the things that you are looking at buying.

However, I'm in love with their environment and the scenes and their friendliness (:
I will head there once again and make sure I took a longer break in London.

Till next time for me to update on Paris.

xoxo

Europe 2014 - Edinburgh

It has been a month since Ive returned from my Europe trip with babylove.
And it is also my first time planning for such a long trip out to the foreign country.
Did lots of research, but in the end, when we were there, we didnt really follow what we wanted to.

We flew there by Qatar Airways - Tickets prices were about S$1.6k per person!
Flight was usually good for me because I usually just sleep when i board the plane =D

We also tried booking out accommodations through Airbnb!
So for those who are interested, you may click on the link below to get $34 credit off your next trip!

Gonna blog about my trip to Edinburgh first.
Pardon our tired faces before the flight!
Reached the airport 1hr earlier, to roam around and did some duty free shopping before hopping on to our flight.

Finally, after 14hrs of plane ride.
Oh yes, I had an transit at Doha for about 1hr before our next flight to Edinburgh.

We bought the return tram tickets to our apartment.
Despite doing research, we had quite a bit of hard time trying to find our apartment! haha!
Because I didnt save any offline maps on my phone

Finally, after roaming for like 15mins, and we actually met one super nice English lady, who actually brought us to somewhere near to our apartment.

And we are finally here!

We settled for this The West Port Apartment, if you are interested, link below:

The reson why we settle for this apartment was because of its central location!
It was near to the Edinburgh Castle which we have plans to visit the next day.
And also, its near to the Grassmarket where we googled that its a pretty popular place!

So we decided to settle on this instead.
A view from the living room - they have everything in place for us!

The messy living room caused by us! hahaha!

The walkway to the living room.

And the bedroom.
Overall, this west port apartment serves us well!
Even thou it was only a 2 Nights stay, but i really think this was the best rooms we have actually gotten.

They even have heater in the room to warm us and also warmer to warm our towels.

The next day, we made our way down to the Grassmarket.

Oh yes, the sun only came at about 9am in the morning, and sets at 3/4pm!
So basically we have very little sunlight.

It was only a 10mins walk down the Grassmarket from our apartment.
And here we saw the Edinburgh castle.

They also have really cute shops that are really interesting.

Colorful buildings to chase away Monday blues! =D

Walked down the Playfair Steps and we have come near the National Museum of Scotland.
We didnt head in because we do not have a lot of time left.
So we continued to stroll down the steps and went for a bit of sightseeing.

Christmas Markets is one of the markets that I love most.
They really sell everything - from soaps to food to souvenirs.

We bought the tickets to their big wheel ride!

And up up we go.
Its was a pretty scary ride, because by the time we reach the top.
the cabin started swaying like we are going to fall!

The view from top.

And overseeing the Christmas Market.

Tried out their Venison burger.
it was pretty good!

And i had my mushroooms.

After all the market shopping, we headed straight to the Edinburgh Castle.
The steps up the Edinburgh castle.

Finally reached.
We only snap shot and left this place because of the time we have left.
It was already 12pm, by the time we got there.

Edinburgh Castle was available to enter, but its going to take 2hrs! LOL!
So due to time constrain, we decided to give this a missed.
Because according to our host, Edinburgh Castle was not worth visiting. =X

The night view overseeing the shopping area.

Edinburgh was really a small town.
Not saying that because i could see everything all in one day.
But saying because everything seems so easy going and unlike the oh so rush Singapore. hehe

Would love to stay in Edinburgh for a longer period of time, so I could really explore the places.
Mayb its time for me to plan for a longer trip to UK only hahah!

Shall blog about the remaining of my trip next time.
=D
